Ghana
From Ghana, Festus understands citizenship as active contribution—through volunteering at church, attending community meetings, and ensuring he is part of solutions. His awareness of climate change is rooted in seeing how shifting rains and resource depletion already affect farmers and livelihoods. In his application, he emphasized leadership rooted in emotional intelligence and compassion, qualities that came alive during his Collective journey. His blog reflected both humility and determination as he shared lessons from his interactions with peers, highlighting how much he valued listening and learning. Drawing and sketching remain his way of expressing what words sometimes cannot, a practice he carried into the trip to capture moments of beauty and struggle. For Festus, India was an opportunity to strengthen his leadership abilities, but more importantly, it became a reminder that local and global challenges are deeply intertwined and that compassion is at the heart of real change.
