Leadership Collective 2017
The 2017 Leadership Collective trip focused on the important theme of Climate Change. Recent events, including the US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Change Accord, focused attention on this issue. Over four months starting with pre-departure assignments, 25 students from the US and India first prepared for and then participated in a trip where their everyday experiences were viewed through the lens of Climate Change and particularly with respect to issues related to water.
The 2017 Leadership Collective was orchestrated by 360Plus and Voygr Expeditions with artistic facilitation from Mumbai based Junoon.
From 140 applications in 2017, we selected a cohort of 20 learners from the US based on their responses to an application designed to gauge their level of curiosity, collaborative ability and creativity of thought and action. This year, working with three education focused organizations in India, we also added five Indian learners to the group.
Student Profiles
The Leadership Collective 2024 is currently cultivating a new generation of conservation leaders. This groundbreaking program transcends borders and conventional learning, offering a transformative journey through India, a land teeming with diverse ecosystems, rich cultural heritage, and over 1.3 billion people.
This year’s cohort of 26 participants hails from seven different countries: India, South Africa, Tanzania, Madagascar, the United States, Lebanon, and Nepal. Inspired by the success story of India’s Bengal Tiger population, these participants are delving into the complexities of conservation. Through a dynamic blend of virtual engagement and immersive travel, they are gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle environmental challenges head-on.
