Michelle Matute

Michelle, a film student from New York, describes her 360Plus journey as “truly life-changing,” opening her eyes to possibilities for her future and career. Coming from a tight-knit Latino community in Queens, she carried with her a strong sense of empathy and resilience, which deepened as she connected with peers from around the world. While she initially struggled with homesickness, she grew into a more confident leader, inspired by moments where plans were turned into action. For Michelle, the trip was not only about exploring India’s culture and climate challenges, but also about realizing that her voice and creativity — through writing, film, and storytelling — could amplify change. She left the program with a stronger vision of the person she wants to become and the causes she wants to champion.
