Today was the “Aha” moment for my group. Yesterday, we focused a lot on defining the problem and asking specific questions to gain insight on rooms for improvement, but we were stuck. Even after spending time in the field and interviewing village elders, none of our ideas seemed practical and sustainable. With the help of Eli and Caitlin however, we realized the key. We didn’t necessarily need to find a completely new strategy or look in places outside of what is accessible here to find our solution. We had what we needed right here. In essence, we came up with a campaign to spread awareness regarding water management. It includes different methods of conserving water agriculturally, and we plan to return to the village tomorrow to set it off. Tomorrow will hopefully be our “Haha.”
Kicking off my first post I just wanted to say how inspiring this whole trip has been for me and it has only been a week. This week has flown by too quickly leaving two weeks to go and it is honestly a bit sad to think about. But the sights and the beautiful bright colors are something I will never forget and for that I am grateful. Who knew houses can be this beautiful and family filled as well as people with such big happy faces being so connected to the community while being disconnected from the world and their phones. India India India. Wow the sights and the views are as beautiful as the faces all around, I wish I could speak to them and get to know them and see how they live and their thoughts on the world but we are only here for a short amount of time and they are doing their own thing. So beautiful…
Curiosity is beautiful. Faces filled with question and interest intrigues me. It is something we can all relate to since we were all children. Here we can see my fellows fixing up their creation since it had fallen apart. This is a good example of when things fall apart to not give up, and to find new fixes. Life won’t always be easy
Curious faces while we are all working on our projects. So focused and hard at work.
Music and dancing I think kind of like a universal way for all of us to connect, we are all from different parts of the world and here we are enjoying life as a whole. It’s great, anyways we were brainstormimg ideas for our cultural performance on Thursday ! Fun times
These pictures are of the villages we explored. We learned how they handle their wet waste. We were able to interact with the children of the village and a family in the village.
